Restaurant Gains and Losses in 3rd Quarter

Lincoln was sad to say goodbye to Yami Korean and Thai Cuisine last month. Located at 70th & Van Dorn, Yami featured: sushi, wonton soup and rice bowls with prices ranging between $5 and $15. 

Also closed are two Eat Fit Go stores located in South Lincoln. Eat Fit Go filled a niche for healthy fast food with pre-packaged meals to go.

Scooters coffee shops continue to expand in Lincoln with a new location at 70th & Pioneers.

Lincoln will welcome a new speakeasy cocktail lounge this winter. The Lady Luck Lounge will be located at 1332 P street and plans to open in February. Billed as a vintage Vegas-style casino lounge, entrance will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will require a password posted on their Facebook page. 

Tavern 180, an Omaha-based restaurant franchise will be moving into the Wilderness Hills Shopping Center this spring. The restaurant features a casual dining experience with an upscale and evolving menu.


	

Business Openings & Closings in Lincoln

       A new IHOP will replace Jimmy’s Egg at 64th & O streets. Both the North 27th street Shopko, and the Gap at South Pointe mall will also be closing their doors.

Several new stores can be seen at the Gateway Mall this holiday season. Here are a few to look for. 

       Zumiez, a store that sells skate related clothing/apparel/accessories. Lululemon, a yoga apparel store has a pop-up near Charlotte Russe.  Round 1 Bowling & Amusement offers entertainment for the whole family with bowling, arcade games, billiards, karaoke and more. HobbyTown Toys & Gifts has a pop-up store at the mall through December 31st.

New to the Gateway food court…

       Super Taco, an authentic Mexican food restaurant, and Tornado Crepes, a dessert bar featuring unique Japanese sweet crepes . Finally, the Angry Bull Subzero Dessert Company is a kiosk store located just outside the Buckle. It serves desserts frozen in liquid nitrogen.

Restaurant News:

Freddy’s Restaurant has opened a third location at 27th & Cornhusker.

South 48th Street Bistro will open soon in the old Hickory Road BBQ location near 48th & Old Cheney. The restaurant is expected to feature primarily Italian cuisine. Look for grand opening information sometime in December.

In the Downtown area, look for the new Fresh Healthy Cafe at 13th & P street, in the University Towers building. This Canada-based fresh food restaurant features healthy items like: smoothies, frozen fruit parfaits, paninis, salads and wraps.

Popular south Lincoln burger restaurant Crave closed its doors this fall but will reopen at 48th & Holdrege in the Square at 48 building. They expect to open at the new location sometime in January.
